Spiritual Emphasis Retreat at Rios Beach.

Having Spiritual Retreat at Rios Beach for two days was a treat. The wide blue ocean and multitude of stars speak of God's great power and handy work. Looking at the blue ocean coupled with the green trees around and sitting on the white beach while meditating the Word of God were very refreshing. All of us enjoyed our quiet time with the Lord as the ladies in our group shared their testimonies.

We miss you, Esther!

After almost a year of service to PMF Church, Esther went back to Germany. We miss her piano playing every prayer meeting and worship service. She is going to attend Liebenzell Mission Seminary. We hope and pray that she will come back to serve with the PMA.

I praise the Lord for bring friends from all over the world. We truly have a one big family.

Children & Youth ministry

I enjoyed the Youth and Children class especially the actual ministry that we did with the PMF Church, Student Center, and Palauan Church. Our teacher, Ned Farnsworth, is very expert in teaching this class. You have to take this class the next time it will be offered.

Here is the picture of our Youth ministry with the Palauan Church.

Eager to Learn!

Some students approached me one afternoon, but I couldn't understand them. They were 4th graders. I asked Mr. Sanit, English teacher and assistant director, to translate what they were saying and he did. They wanted to practice speaking English. I spent time with them and played with them. There were more students who joined us. Mac, Elilai, Twinsanne and I had a wonderful time with them.

We spent our first Sunday here with the students on the volleyball court. We let them memorize John 3:16 and sing Christian action songs. They memorized the verse but I doubt if they really understood. Anyway, the Bible says God's Word will not return to Him void when it is preached or taught. On the second Sunday, we already received from Pastor Hiob the 10 Thai Bibles Old and New Testament and 50 sets of Four Spiritual Laws. We gave each student the Four Spiritual Laws and let them read aloud. We also let them read a portion of the gospel of John. After reading the Four Spiritual Laws, Elilai shared the gospel using the "Wordless Book" . We also let them memorize John 14:6. We entrusted one Bible to one student. We instructed her to read it and let others also read. Please pray that the Word that was planted in their hearts will grow and bloom.

We went with the teachers of Anuban Nong Kwai School to Khon Kaen (5 to 6 hours ride in a private car) last Wednesday to watch the Schools’ Fair. One of my students is a participant of English show. She got bronze. On that morning (August 2) of competition I called Pastor Wathana. He was a former classmate and roommate of Pastor Hiob Ngirachemoi at ITS in LA. He came to Khon Kaen University to meet us. He brought us to his home and to the church. His only son, David, played “As the Deer Pants for the Water” on the piano. He plays piano very well. The church is big and they are having 3 Worship Services every Sunday. They were able to plant 10 churches already through out the place. We visited their home and the church. They have a big project of building new church building and school building. It was good to meet Christians here. We really felt at home. Mrs. Wathana brought us back to Khon Kaen University. We planned to come back last Sunday but it's too far. It will take us 6 hours to commute by bus. Anyway, we are very happy to know that the Lord's work is flourishing in Khon Kaen and in the neighboring provinces. They are in need of workers. If you are interested to work with Pastor Wathana just let me know.

Teaching is fun!

We had a good time in Nong Khai (3 days orientation at Open Mind Projects) with the rest of the volunteers from London, Germany, Netherlands, and Australia. We enjoyed listening to the accent of Tanya and Lindsay (from England). Sometimes we imitated them and laughed a lot. Mac was sometimes irritated with us. After a week we forgot their accent and went back to our own Micronesian accent.

We were picked up by the English teachers of Anuban Nong kwai Primary School. It was more than an hour travel from Nong Khai. The road is paved and the side of the the road is green and lustrous. It was a very refreshing trip looking at the green tree and and rice fields.

Trip to Thailand

It was already late in the evening when Stella came to the Bannex. I was not done with packing yet and so was Stella. We stayed up late until 2:00 a.m. We only had more than one hour sleep. Good thing, somebody invented an alarm clock. It woke me up at 4 a.m. followed by a telephone ring from Pastor Hiob and Leah. They wanted to know if we were awake. I prepared breakfast but not able to eat them. I think we were so excited to leave we did not mind eating. Pastor Hiob dropped Mac, Stella, and me to the airport. Elilai and Twinsanne were at the airport already when we arrived then we proceed to check in. Finally, we are on our way to Taipei.
It took more than three hours to reach Taipei.
